Building Smarter Event Solutions with Oracle APEX: Q&A App in Action

On 19 December 2024, Arun Mohan, Co-Founder and CTO of Maathra, delivered a technical session titled “Building Smarter Event Solutions: The Oracle APEX Q&A App with AI, PWA, and Real-Time Engagement” at Oracle APEX Office Hours JAPAC.

The session focused on the design and implementation of the Oracle APEX Q&A App, an innovative event engagement solution originally built to support large-scale community events such as Oracle APEX Utsav. Developed entirely using Oracle APEX, the application demonstrates how low-code platforms can power modern, interactive, and scalable event experiences.

During the session, Arun walked participants through the end-to-end journey of building the application—covering architectural decisions, feature design, and real-world considerations. The app integrates real-time audience interaction, progressive web app (PWA) capabilities, and AI-driven enhancements to enable seamless question submission, moderation, and live engagement during sessions.

The presentation highlighted how Oracle APEX can be extended beyond traditional business applications to deliver responsive, mobile-ready, and intelligent solutions without compromising on performance or governance. Attendees gained practical insights into leveraging APEX for event-centric use cases, real-time data handling, and user experience design.
