The Challenge

A leading automobile dealership management solution provider builds and delivers Oracle APEX–based applications for automotive dealerships. Report generation within these applications was handled using PL/SQL dynamic content, requiring extensive custom code for formatting, pagination, and conditional logic.

As reporting requirements grew, this approach became increasingly difficult to sustain. Page breaks could not be handled cleanly, leading to multiple print buttons and duplicated code paths. Conditional rendering of images was complex and fragile, and achieving consistent, pixel-perfect layouts across different reports required significant manual effort.

Each new report format often took several weeks to design, test, and stabilize. This increased dependency on senior developers, slowed customer delivery timelines, and raised long-term maintainability concerns. The organization needed a scalable reporting solution that could simplify development without introducing recurring license costs or data ownership risks.

Our Solution

The organization adopted Maathra’s ReportFactory to standardize report generation across its Oracle APEX applications. ReportFactory replaced large volumes of custom PL/SQL with a structured, template-driven approach that integrated seamlessly with Oracle APEX.

The solution enabled pixel-perfect layouts, built-in pagination handling, and simplified conditional rendering, while supporting multiple output formats such as PDF, Word, and Excel. Importantly, all data remained within the organization’s own cloud environment, addressing security and data ownership requirements. The ease of integration allowed the team to onboard quickly and transition existing reports with minimal disruption.

Key Results
